Tenant FAQs
Answers to your frequently asked questions
-
Can you hold a place before I apply?
Unfortunately, we cannot hold properties without a completed application, approved screening, and signed lease agreement. Properties remain actively marketed until the lease is executed and any required funds are received. -
Do I pay first month's rent and last month's rent with my security deposit?
Typically, you are required to pay the first month's rent and a security deposit prior to moving in. Last month's rent is not usually required unless specified in your lease agreement. -
How old do you have to be to apply?
All applicants must be at least 18 years of age to apply for tenancy. -
Is the deposit refundable?
Yes. Your security deposit is refundable, provided that the terms of your lease are fulfilled and the property is returned in good condition. Any deductions will be itemized and documented in accordance with Minnesota law. -
Who needs a cosigner?
A cosigner may be required if an applicant does not meet minimum credit, income, or rental history requirements. Cosigners must complete a separate application and meet qualification standards. -
You have a property I want to rent. How do I apply?
You may apply directly through our website using the online application portal. If you have questions about the process, our leasing team is available to assist you. -
How do I pay rent?
Rent is paid securely online through your Resident Portal, which is accessible 24/7. We encourage online payments to ensure prompt processing and ease of record keeping. -
I want to get a pet. What should I do?
Before acquiring a pet, please review your lease terms and contact our office for approval. All pets must be screened and approved, and additional deposits or fees may apply. -

Please contact our office immediately. Any changes to the lease or occupants must be approved in writing. We will guide you through the appropriate steps to update the lease and ensure compliance. -
My lease expiration is coming and I want to move out. What should I do?
You are required to provide written notice as specified in your lease agreement, typically 60 days prior to lease expiration. Please contact our office for detailed move-out instructions and to ensure proper coordination. -
Who is responsible for paying for repairs and maintenance requests?
Dreamteam Property Management handles normal wear-and-tear maintenance. Repairs required due to tenant damage, misuse, or neglect are the tenant's responsibility and will be billed accordingly. We encourage all tenants to promptly report maintenance issues through the Resident Portal to ensure timely resolution.
